What: Opening
Date: April 2024
Location: 1409 Oak Street Suite B, Montgomery, AL 36108
We are excited to announce that our literacy center will be opening soon! This will be a city resource for young and old, a place to connect and make our city better. The library will offer a variety of books and resources, and the coffee shop will be a great place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.
The Brock brothers, Anthony and Fred, were two Montgomery natives who opened up Valiant Cross Academy in 2015 to move each student within Montgomery to their full potential. Through this intentionality, they’ve become a shining light for themselves and those around them.
After some time in the education system, the brothers wanted to create a space that would house a coffee shop and bookstore to serve as an educational resource for students in need. The location of the new Literacy Center is in the heart of West Montgomery on Oak Street strategically located next door to The King’s Canvas. To help make this dream come true, they are gathering donations from local businesses and people who are excited about giving back!
The new Literacy Center will provide kids with programs like Reading Rookies, where adults read books aloud while teaching them how important it is to become successful readers. They also felt their local business leaders needed a location to meet and exchange ideas. This Literacy center will be able to assist with that. Please join us in helping our city expand its horizons. Donate today!
To inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen our communities.
In definition, lifelong learning is the continuous process of acquiring knowledge and skills. It doesn’t stop at any age; in fact, it is necessary for people of all ages to keep learning to keep up with the changes in the world. Lifelong learning has many benefits: it keeps your mind active and healthy; it helps you stay current with new technology and developments; it increases your productivity and creativity; and it makes you more marketable in today’s economy.
It is the responsibility of every generation to advance the knowledge and understanding of their time. In order to inspire future generations and continue the advancement of human knowledge, it is important for each generation to share their findings and discoveries. This responsibility falls on all members of society, from the youngest student to the most experienced scholar. By working together, we can ensure that the progress of human knowledge continues unabated.
In order to have a strong community, we need to have strong individuals. To build strong individuals, we need to provide opportunities for them to grow and learn. We can do this by providing access to resources, education, and support. When we come together as a community, we can achieve great things.
A library is more than just a place to check out books. It’s a community gathering space, a source of knowledge and information, and a place of refuge. In an increasingly hectic and disconnected world, libraries play an essential role in fostering literacy and promoting a love of learning. They are places where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to explore new ideas and perspectives.
Sadly, many libraries are struggling to stay afloat. They are underfunded and understaffed, and their resources are stretched thin. However, there is hope. By giving a donation to Valiant Books, you can help start a movement. Your donation will go towards funding the building remodel, library programs, purchasing new books and resources, and supporting the library staff. In addition, your donation will send a strong message of support for literacy and learning in our city. By making a small contribution today, you can help to ensure that our urban library remains a vital part of our community for years to come.
We use Donorbox to take donations. Their privacy policy is located at Donorbox.
Along with our neighbors, we look forward to many events this year at Valiant Books.
